Construction Update April 2010
The beautiful kitchen is near completion.
The other side of the kitchen.
The dining and living rooms.
Living and dining rooms.
The upstairs halway.
The large bunkroom.
The large bathroom.
Roof with solar powered clothes dryer.
River rock for filling in the driveway.
That's a lot of rock to move by hand.
After 45 minutes of moving the rock by hand, this guy shows up.
This is makes things go faster.
Just about done.
and 15 minutes later the piles of rocks are moved.
The plaster goes on the walls.
The edges will be perfect when he's done.
Gate being installed.
Scaffolding.
More of the gate being installed.
The new living quarters for the host couple.
The floors are going in the host couple quarters.
Mingo doesn't need a can opener.
Mingo is charge of preparing lunch each day for the work crew.
Buckets of mezcla (plaster mixture) go on the ceilings.
Step 1: Sift the sand
Step 2: spread the sifted sand on the ground
Step 3: Add cement mix in the correct ratio
Step 4: Spread the cement out on top of the sand
Step 5: Shovel the sand and cement into a pile
Step 6: Admire your pile
Step 7: Knock down the pile of the mixture
Step 8: Spread out the mixture
Step 9: Create a well in the middle of the mixture
Step 10: Fill it with water
Step 11: Put the walls of the "pool" into the water.
Step 12: Keep mixing with shovel
Step 13: Make another pile
Step 14: Knock the pile down
Step 15: Add water as needed
Step 16: Continue mixing
Step 17: Transport the "mezcla" (mixture) in buckets

Even at 28 years old, I still think dump trucks are cool.
